Sun Safety Week Following Melanoma Awareness month, the first week of June is National Sun Safety Week, designated by The Sun Safety Alliance. The organization which focuses on skin cancer prevention creates education programs and works with other sun safety organizations to increase awareness of the risks. Their work is important as there are more than 1.2 million new cases of skin cancer each year in the United States alone.
